Yun's use of white slip and incised decoration reveals that his inspiration came from the buncheong wares of the Joseon dynasty. His form, however, is a regular round makes this tall piece, however, without using a potter's wheel. Also the form is not round but triangular, and the swirls and wavy line decorating the surface are scratched on quickly with a rough brush imparting a sense of spontaneity. Yun's innovative ways of making works such as this piece put him in the front line of bursting creativity for which contemporary Korean ceramics are being known in the world.
