Park Young-Sook consciously connects her work to the buncheong pottery tradition of the early Joseon dynasty. Her innovation, however, can be seen in the form itself, the bold design of reeds and an egret, the almost invisible brown line on the mouth rim, and the use of copper oxide blobs. For this work she uses clay containing a small amount of iron and applies white slip on surfaces, both interior and exterior, under the glaze.

Park's works have become enormously popular since Queen Elizabeth II paid a visit to her gallery during the queen's tour of Insa-dong in Seoul in April of 1999.
