Not on viewThe freshwater container, known in Japanese as mizusashi, holds cold water used to replenish the kettle during a gathering and to clean teabowls at the end. Tokusawa Mitsunori, son of ceramic artist Tokusawa Moritoshi (b. 1943), created this jar with a bold, diagonally carved exterior design, and black ceramic cover. He is from Fukuoka Prefecture and works mainly with tea ceramics.
